One of the most famous land adventures is the ‘Sun Rise Hiking’ at Mount Batur. It becomes favorite among adventurer since it provides a good trek and quite safe for beginner. More and more tourists are coming to try the trek and try to surmount the challenge.
Mount Batur is located in Kintamani, Bangli regency. Beside the mountain, it is also famous for its lake and the temple. The sun rise hiking start point is situated at Pasar Agung Kintamani, about 3 KM from penelokan site. It is quite easy to find the place and quite smooth to get there in the morning. The hike normally starts at 03:30 as to reach to top of the mountain before sunrise. Our guide will be waiting at the base and ready to guide along the trek. It is highly recommended to have a guide with you to avoid problems of getting lost on the way. Having the guide is so beneficial because you will get proper information about the area and keep you on the right trek. Once you get to the top, you will have to wait for the sun to rise up. In the meantime, our guide will prepare some (light) breakfast, and (if you want) take you to boil some eggs in a puddle of sulfur. The sunrise is expected to appear around 05:40 – 06:00. If the weather if fine, you will capture a perfect site around you. The cold atmosphere is blanketing the area as it could reach up to 17 degrees Celsius. It is really cold for most Balinese. If you are not used to it, get your jacket on to protect you from freezing.
